Literary Appreciation Week
28th February - 4th March
During Literary Appreciation Week, staff and children enjoyed a plethora of activities. The week started off with an exciting assembly to introduce the theme of the week: magic. The children were challenged to use three words throughout the week: crepuscule, enchanting, incantation. Children loved challenging themselves to using these words verbally or in their writing. Golden tickets were hidden in books across the school and children were awarded with Marvellous Me after completing comprehension questions. Teachers swapped classrooms for a 3pm story and enjoyed reading to a different class. The children thrived off hearing another teacher read to them. Towards the end of the week, children and staff dressed up as a word and were part of a whole school vocabulary parade. There were words such as illuminate and fragile. The final day of the week was dedicated to special writing about potions. The children and staff loved celebrating all things Literacy!
